Poway Girls Softball is working to build four softball fields on Midland Road. The fields will be built on city owned land which is located in the floodway of Rattlesnake Creek. Due to floodway restrictions this land cannot be used as a site for structures, but is ideally suited for use as ball fields or other recreational purposes. Ample parking is provided on the site for use by softball players and their families.
The park that PGSL has proposed is just that, a park. The look and feel of the park will be very similar to Old Poway. The ball fields have been designed to blend into the landscape to create an open, natural feel. Concrete and other hard-scapes have been minimized and the areas between fields are open and beautifully landscaped to soften the impact on the surrounding area.
Included in the park are community friendly features such as picnic benches, barbeque facilities, park benches, meandering pedestrian trails and playground equipment. The goal of the park is to provide a multi-use facility that can be used as a community park as well as ball fields.
There are four softball diamonds which are placed to have the softest impact on the park.  In addition there is a snack shack facility which includes restrooms, equipment storage and a meeting room.  The building was tastefully designed by well known architect William Holcomb to blend into the Old Poway motif. Lighting fixtures like the ones found in Old Poway Park will be used throughout the park.
